Foundayo® Pill
through Hers

Foundayo® can help you lose an average of 12.4% of your body weight and around 11 cm from your waist, with benefits for blood pressure and cholesterol too.1 Take one tablet a day, at any time, with or without food.

Meet Foundayo®

If injections have put you off weight loss treatment, Foundayo® gives you another way to get GLP 1 support. It is a prescription weight loss tablet containing orforglipron, taken once a day without food or water restrictions.

Weight loss by Hers
  • Partner with clinicians to customise your treatment plan

  • If eligible, your treatment will be delivered directly to your door with your side effect kit and weight loss starter pack.

  • Access to unlimited 24/7 clinician support and ongoing check-ins with registered clinicians

  • Track your progress and access expert led content on nutrition, exercise and more via your Hers App

How it works
  1. Take 1 Foundayo® tablet once a day. You can take it at any time, with or without food and without limiting how much water you drink

  2. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not break, crush or chew it, and do not take more than 1 tablet in a day.

You do not medically need to take it at exactly the same time each day. Taking it at a regular time can simply make it easier to remember.

Actual price will depend on subscription plan purchase. Requires an online consultation with a healthcare provider who will determine if treatment is appropriate. 1Based on the efficacy estimate in the UK prescribing information from a 72 week study (ATTAIN-1) in adults with obesity, or overweight with at least one weight related condition, who did not have type 2 diabetes. Participants taking the highest Foundayo® dose also received support with diet and physical activity. Individual results vary.

Lose up to 12.4% of your body weight with Foundayo®

That is around 12 kg if you start at 100 kg. People taking the highest dose also lost an average of around 11 cm from their waist.

How to achieve the best results with Foundayo®

You do not need to do everything perfectly for treatment to work. What matters most is following your prescribed dose consistently and building habits you can keep going.

Healthy weight loss comes from a modest, steady difference between the energy you eat and what your body uses. Foundayo® can make that easier by reducing hunger, but your body still needs enough nourishment while your weight changes.

  • Protein: Include a source of protein in most meals to help protect muscle mass

  • Fluids: Sip regularly through the day, especially if you feel sick, have diarrhoea or are constipated. We recommend at least 2 litres per day.

  • Movement: Start with something manageable, such as a short walk, then build up gradually

  • Progress: Weigh yourself once or twice a week and also notice waist measurements, appetite and how your clothes fit

  • Support: Message a Hers clinician if side effects, hunger or slower progress are making it difficult to stay consistent

How well does Foundayo® work for women?

If weight has felt harder to manage since your periods started changing, that is not a lack of willpower. Hormonal changes around menopause can affect where your body stores fat and make previous approaches feel less effective.

In an additional post hoc analysis* of the Foundayo® studies, women lost weight at every stage of menopause. Among women without type 2 diabetes taking the highest dose, average weight loss after 72 weeks was:

  • 12.8% before menopause

  • 14.4% during perimenopause

  • 14.1% after menopause

  • Waist size reduced by up to 12.5 cm.

This was an additional analysis rather than a study created to compare menopausal groups, so it does not prove that one group will respond better than another. It does show that Foundayo® can support weight loss before, during and after menopause.

About Foundayo®

Foundayo® is a once daily GLP-1 tablet that helps reduce hunger and can be taken at any time, with or without food.

How does Foundayo® work?

Your body naturally uses a hormone called GLP-1 to help control hunger, digestion and blood sugar after you eat. Orforglipron activates the same type of receptors more consistently.

In practice, Foundayo® can help:

  • Reduce your appetite.

  • Help you feel satisfied with smaller portions.

  • Quieten food noise, those persistent thoughts about food that can be difficult to switch off.

  • Slow how quickly your stomach empties, particularly when you first start treatment.

How does Foundayo® compare to the Wegovy® pill?

There has not been a direct study comparing the licensed weight loss doses, so the percentages in the table should not be treated as a direct comparison.

The weight loss figures come from separate studies with different durations and populations. Individual results vary.

Eligibility for Foundayo®

Lists of criteria like this can feel impersonal, but they are here to make sure Foundayo® is prescribed safely to the people it is actually right for, not to catch anyone out.

Am I eligible for Foundayo®?

You may be eligible for Foundayo® if you are 18 or over and:

  • Your BMI is 30 or higher

  • Your BMI is 27 or higher and you have a weight related health condition, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnoea or cardiovascular disease

  • A clinician may use a lower BMI threshold if you belong to an ethnic group with a higher risk of weight related health conditions, including South Asian, Chinese, other Asian, Middle Eastern, Black African and African Caribbean backgrounds

  • You are already taking Foundayo® or have used weight management medication before, in which case a clinician will assess your suitability individually

These are the starting criteria, not a guarantee of treatment. Your clinician will also review your health, current medicines and treatment history before deciding whether Foundayo® is suitable for you.

Occasionally, a Hers clinician may consider prescribing outside this guidance where it's clinically appropriate. That would fall outside Foundayo®'s licensed use, so we'll always talk you through what that means and get your consent first.

When might Foundayo® not be suitable?

Meeting the BMI criteria is only part of the picture. Your Hers clinician also needs to know about your health conditions and any medicines you take. Hers may not be able to prescribe Foundayo® if any of the following apply to you:

  • You are allergic to orforglipron or another ingredient in the tablet

  • You are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to try for a baby soon

  • You have ever had pancreatitis

  • You have gastroparesis, ileus or a bowel obstruction

  • You have active gallbladder disease

  • You have end stage liver or kidney failure, or the most severe form of heart failure

  • You have diabetic retinopathy or another diabetes related eye condition

  • You had bariatric, gastrointestinal or major abdominal surgery within the last 12 weeks

  • You or a close family member have had thyroid cancer, or you have multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2

  • You have type 1 diabetes or use insulin or a sulfonylurea medicine

  • You currently use another weight loss medicine

  • You have ever been diagnosed with anorexia or bulimia

  • You take lithium, simvastatin or certain medicines that strongly affect how Foundayo® is processed

This is not a complete list. Hers sometimes uses stricter safety criteria than the manufacturer because we provide care online and do not automatically have access to your complete medical record. The online assessment gives your clinician the information needed to check your individual situation.

How to Take Foundayo®

Foundayo® has a flexible daily routine, but following your prescribed dose consistently gives it the best chance to support your progress.

How do I take Foundayo® tablets?
  1. Take 1 Foundayo® tablet once a day. You can take it at any time, with or without food and without limiting how much water you drink.

  2. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not break, crush or chew it, and do not take more than 1 tablet in a day.

You do not medically need to take it at exactly the same time each day. Taking it at a regular time can simply make it easier to remember.

Foundayo® Pill Doses

Like other GLP-1 weight loss medications, Foundayo® comes with a dosing schedule that allows you to start at a lower dose and increase it slowly to help your body adjust to the amount of medication in your system.

Which Foundayo® pill doses are available?

Starting low gives your body time to adjust. Each increase happens after at least 30 days on your current dose, and only when your clinician agrees it is appropriate.

Although the dosing schedule allows you to move up to the next dose after 30 days, you don’t have to. You and your Hers clinician can agree on when and how often to increase your dose as you progress through your treatment journey.

What if I miss a dose

Missing a tablet can happen. Take it as soon as you remember, but never take more than 1 Foundayo® tablet in the same day.

If you miss a full day, take your usual daily dose the next day. Do not take 2 tablets to catch up.

If you have missed several doses or had a longer break, message a Hers clinician before restarting. The right restart dose depends on how long you stopped, your previous dose and any side effects you had.

When should I increase my Foundayo® pill dose?

You can increase your dose after at least 30 days at your current dose, as long as you haven’t had any difficult side effects. It’s important to increase your dose at this rate to give your body a chance to adjust to the medication.

However, just because you have the option to increase, it doesn’t mean you have to. If you feel like you’re happy with your current level of appetite and cravings, and you’re still losing weight, you can stay on your current dose longer.

When to increase or decrease your dose, and when to stay on your current dose

  • When to increase: You have taken your current dose consistently for at least 30 days, side effects are manageable and you need more appetite support

  • When to stay on your dose: It is supporting progress and side effects are manageable

  • When to slow down: It may be needed if you are struggling to eat enough or side effects are affecting daily life

How to find your Foundayo® pill maintenance dose for long-term weight management?

There is no single maintenance dose that suits everyone. The 0.8 mg dose is the starting dose and should normally increase to 2.5 mg after at least 30 days. After that, the right ongoing dose is the one that supports your weight and appetite while keeping side effects manageable.

Once you reach your goal, the focus changes from losing more weight to keeping your weight steady. Your clinician may keep your dose the same, reduce it or make another adjustment based on your progress.

You do not need to reach the maximum 17.2 mg dose for Foundayo® to be working. Consistency on a suitable dose matters more than moving up as quickly as possible.

Side Effects and
Warnings

Once you start Foundayo®, there is a chance you may get side effects. Most are mild or moderate and tend to ease as your body adjusts. Your first order also comes with a side effect kit to help you manage common symptoms at home.

Serious side effects : seek medical help immediately

Stop taking Foundayo® and seek urgent medical help if you develop severe or persistent stomach pain that may spread to your back, signs of a bowel obstruction, or a severe allergic reaction such as swelling of the face or throat or difficulty breathing.

Call 111 or 999, or go to A&E immediately.

Contact your Hers clinician promptly if you notice sudden changes in your vision, severe constipation, or vomiting or diarrhoea that makes it difficult to keep fluids down.

Can I take Foundayo® with other medication?

Tell your Hers clinician about every prescription medication, pharmacy treatment, vitamin and supplement you use. Foundayo® is processed differently from Wegovy® and Mounjaro®, so some medicines need particular attention.

Foundayo® cannot be prescribed alongside simvastatin or certain medicines that strongly affect how it is processed. These include ritonavir, ciclosporin, clarithromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, verapamil, carbamazepine, phenytoin, rifampicin, phenobarbital, primidone, St John’s wort and efavirenz.

Other medications may need closer review or monitoring, including warfarin, digoxin, levothyroxine, methotrexate, oral HRT and some antibiotics or antifungal medicines.

Important: Do not stop a prescribed medication yourself. Your Hers clinician will explain whether Foundayo® is suitable or whether another weight loss treatment would be safer.

What do I do if I experience side effects?

Most side effects settle as your body adjusts. They are often most noticeable after starting Foundayo® or increasing your dose. A few practical changes can help you manage them at home.

Feeling or being sick: Eat smaller meals more often and eat slowly. Bland food is often easier to tolerate than rich, greasy or spicy meals. Sip fluids regularly and stay upright for a while after eating. If symptoms persist, a Hers clinician can advise whether prescription treatment is appropriate.

Diarrhoea: Simple foods and regular small sips of fluid can help you avoid dehydration. Keep track of how often it is happening. A pharmacist or Hers clinician can advise whether a short course of treatment is suitable.

Constipation: Drink regularly and increase fibre gradually. Gentle movement can help too. A sudden large increase in fibre can make bloating or discomfort worse, so build up slowly.

Indigestion: Try smaller, slower meals and leave a few hours between eating and going to bed. Coffee, alcohol and fizzy drinks can make symptoms worse for some people. A pharmacist can advise on an antacid if needed.

If home measures are not enough, message a Hers clinician through the Hers App. Do not wait for an online response if you think you need urgent medical help.

Fertility, Hormones and Foundayo®

From contraception and pregnancy to changing periods, there are a few extra things women need to know before starting Foundayo®.

Does Foundayo® affect fertility?

The direct effect of Foundayo® on fertility in humans is unknown. Weight loss can make periods and ovulation more regular for some women, which means pregnancy may become more likely even if that was not expected.

Foundayo® has not been proven to treat fertility problems or polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS, previously known as polycystic ovarian syndrome, or PCOS). If pregnancy is possible, use effective contraception throughout treatment.

Can I take Foundayo® while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Foundayo® should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

If you are planning a pregnancy, stop Foundayo® at least 3 weeks before trying. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop taking it and contact your GP or maternity care team as soon as possible.

Can I take Foundayo® alongside Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?

HRT does not automatically rule out Foundayo® treatment, but your clinician needs to know exactly which products you use. Foundayo® can affect how some medicines taken by mouth are absorbed, so extra monitoring may be needed. Patches and gels do not pass through your digestive system in the same way.

Can I take Foundayo® alongside the contraceptive pill?

Foundayo® can make oral hormonal contraception less effective. Switch to a non oral method or add a barrier method such as condoms for 30 days after starting Foundayo® and for 30 days after every dose increase.

Switching from GLP-1 Injections to Foundayo®

Moving treatments does not mean working out the timing or dose alone. A Hers clinician will confirm when to start Foundayo® and which dose is appropriate for you.

You would usually start taking Foundayo® on the day your next weight loss injection is due. You may notice your appetite increase and you may get some side effects.

Switching from Mounjaro® to Foundayo®

Take your last Mounjaro® injection, then start Foundayo® seven days later. The table shows the possible starting dose when treatment has been consistent and side effects are manageable.

Switching from Wegovy® injections to Foundayo®

Take your last Wegovy® injection, then start Foundayo® seven days later. The table shows the possible starting dose when treatment has been consistent and side effects are manageable.

Switching from the Wegovy® pill to Foundayo®

Take your final Wegovy® tablet, then start Foundayo® the next day. Once you switch, you will no longer need to follow the fasting window or wait 30 minutes before food, drink or other tablets.

Important to know before switching from a GLP-1 injection

If you are currently on GLP-1 injections and they work well for you, we would not recommend switching to Foundayo®. The reason is that no available Foundayo® dose is expected to match the average weight loss effect of Mounjaro® at 5 mg or above, or Wegovy® injections at 1 mg or above. Your appetite may increase and some weight regain is possible. Your Hers clinician will talk through staying on your injection, reducing the dose, or switching so you can make an informed decision.

Frequently Asked
Questions About
Foundayo®

Is the Foundayo® pill safe?

Yes. Foundayo® was officially approved for weight loss in the UK and is therefore safe to take. As with any prescription only medication, it should only be taken when prescribed by a clinician. Your Hers clinician will review your health, current medicines and treatment history before deciding whether it is appropriate for you.

Is Foundayo® the same as Orforglipron?

Yes. Foundayo® is the brand name of the medication, and orforglipron is the active ingredient. Some medications are known only by their active ingredients, like ibuprofen. Others are known by their brand name.

What if I’m not losing weight on Foundayo®?

Weight loss is rarely linear. A slower week or 2 does not mean treatment has stopped working. Look at several weeks together and consider other signs too, including appetite, portions, waist measurements and how your clothes fit.

Take your dose consistently and do not increase it yourself. If hunger is still difficult to manage, side effects are getting in the way or your weight has not changed over several weeks, message a Hers clinician. If you have not lost at least 5% of your starting weight after 6 months, they may review your dose, recommend another treatment or discuss whether to stop.

Can you get Foundayo® on the NHS?

Not currently. Foundayo® is approved for use in the UK, but it is not yet available on the NHS. This is because it needs to go through an additional review by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence before the NHS can offer it*.

*Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. (2026). UK first in Europe to authorise orforglipron for weight management and type 2 diabetes.

How much does the Foundayo® pill cost through Hers?

Foundayo® through Hers starts from £59 a month on a 6 month plan, if a clinician decides it is suitable for you.

Your exact monthly price will depend on your plan and, where applicable, your dose. We will always show the full cost clearly before you pay.
